The House of photography is situated on a spectacular island in Bjørvika in central Oslo. The project consists of two buildings for the Photography museum and one building for service functions for the beach. 

Atelier Oslo won the open international competition in 2019. By creating a compact house and placing it at the back of the site, we preserve as much free area as possible towards the sea. The house opens to the surroundings, giving passersby an insight into exhibitions and activities. The simple, yet distinctive wooden structure creates a warm and unpretentious house on the pier. A house that makes Sukkerbiten an attractive place to be all year round.
